2-12. JW's Rebellious Clash

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

The boys are ready to discuss JWs EPIC tournament run at the Limitless Qualifier featuring the Rebel Clash set.

Bube welcome back to tag team. My nameis JW creewall and I am without my partner in crime. Riley Halbert he isat at still at work. Obviously does health systems work, and so he is unfortunately notwith US had to be in the office late, I'm sure they're running out. I knowfrom I think. Last week he was talking about. They were running out some newprograms for a new hospital. So I have no doubt that that is what he's doingbusy out there, making sure that hospitals run efficiently and the bestof they can so hopefully that goes well and we'll have them back for next week, but that gives me an opportunity to talk to you guys just one on one. Ithink this is a really great time of just talking about where we're atwith the format where we're at with the game in general, and we have a new setcoming up tomorrow, which is a big big deal. A lot of people have been hyping. This set up, it's going to adda few new wrinkles. It's going to just, I think, give us a little bitmore fun. I feel like a lot of people have been in the mindset that thisformat is very stale, and I agree with them to an extent- and I think the lackof you know in person playing has really hurt the format, because now Ithink, a lot of people to get their fix in they're able to play more games inthe online client, and I think that's led to a little bit more burn out. Soit is very exciting. I am so so so excited to be streaming tomorrow, withthe new set one pm release tomorrow and again, Ithink it'll be great for the game, we're seeing a lot of streamers gettinga lot bigger numbers across the board, pretty much, which is very, veryexciting for the POKOMON trading card game in general right. So we had, you know just just the big names areall going to be streaming tomorrow, and it should be a really exciting time wesaw when the limitless tournament was happening a couple of weeks ago thatthe numbers were just absolutely insane. If you guys went on and maybe weren'tplaying and were just watching streams, you saw that you know there were peoplewith three hundred two hundred. You know one hundred players as down theline there, watching what other people were streaming and that is so so coolfor pokemon. You know for our online game what a huge blessing to start tosee the communities being built up from the groundup so going to be veryexciting. Tomorrow I am stoked to be streaming. It got my codes input todaywe're going to open some packs, we're going to do some trades, we're going toget some decks and I think that's what I want to talk about here in the firstpart of the program is just what I'm looking forward to in rebel clash. I think that there are a number ofdecks that I would love to just start to try out. I think we may see somemore of the same, although Dragopal is a serious early contender for teer one,but I think we may see more of the same. You know, ATP gets a few new wrinklesthere and some of the decks that are in thecurrent format get some updates, which is very nice, but these are just kind of the thingsthat I'm going to be playing all day tomorrow, just kind of the more fun dextrying to explore what the new set gives us and one deck that I have beenanxiously awaiting is in tellion n, the intelion vmax. I think that is very, very cool. The VMAX's first attack has like basically an energy denial that wereally haven't seen on other pokemon or at least for as cheaply as we see it onthe Italian vmax. It's just for one water, energy and it forces youropponent to pick up an energy on their...

...active Fokemon. So I mean we thinkabout right now in the current standard format, where ATP is running wild andit needs two turns to power up, sometimes I mean sometimes only oneturn with energy switch, but you know usually historically has takentwo terms to power up the ATP. Well now you can maybe disrupt that's like anautomatic destruption and then, if they get a zation built up, you knowsomething that takes three energy to attack with. Then you can force them topick an energy up, and you know maybe they don't have a good switch option itjust it gets kind of funky there. You know, and you can maybe play a crushinghammer or something like that team yell grunt on top of the attack and all of asudden they're looking atization with only one energy, maybe even zero energy, and that's a very scary thought so intellion something that I'm reallylooking forward to from this next set. I want to try that out. Just as much asI can has a lot of HP can do some can do some cool things has a first attackon the basic that snipes. I just there's a lot of things that I likeabout it. I don't know that it's tar one but IAM going to be playing it, foryou know at least for to Morr. The inclusion of Boltond in Pekeram issomething that I'm also very very stoked to see how that kind of playsitself out, whether or not that just replaces like Pikaram, whether or notthat replaces that riht chew. I want to see how the pikarom lists adapt tohaving just that immediate. You know energy acceleration from the deck ormaybe it's not even a Peka deck at all with Bullton, maybe it's more focusedaround taxetricity or any of the other. You know really strong. ElectricAttackers Bolltond Os a card that I am stoked about, and I can't wait to seehow these decks use it. The Fun will come when we don't need tospend a kidney to buy a GERATCI. Well, we'll see dude we'll see. I think thatGeraci is still going to be a major player in this next format. So you know, if you don't have them now.Definitely good to you know, pick up your pick up your decks and pick upyour. What do you call him? Those those battle arena decks and get your a couple at Garaci we have melotic with progopass, somalotic has an attack that does fifty additional damage for every retreatcost star in your opponents for tree costs. So if they have four, then it'sdoing a believe two hundred and ten and you can boost that damage. Obviously, with things like ADP, you can boost that damage withjust more absal on your band. She can boost that damage with the new stadiumthat increases their retreat by two. That's a card that I am looking forwardto as well malotic just seeming like it could be something spicy. We saw Tangrowth show up in the last format, just briefly towards the end of that format, and that could be something that is, youknow, carries over. That idea carries over into the next set in molotic, where it just gets a little bit more HP. It might be a little bit easier to setup. If you have, you know, molodic with an energy and you well ter two firesand then all of a sudden you can start attacking. I think, that's very cool.Obviously APSOL is a very good desruption card. We've seen that inlist you know for the last couple formats just being able to stall. Youknow opponents guracis opponents, basic Pokmon, that that you need to so theanis a cool deck that I'm looking forward to trying out. I don't feel like that'll be ter one,but I feel like a solid. Tear too, is where I'd put that Dick just off of you, know my history in the game. What I know about these types of attacks- and you know how I think, they'll stack upagainst what's ter wone right now got a couple more interesting cards. Idon't know whether or not these will see any play, but they will definitelybe fun to play with tomorrow and that's Cursola and the non the dragopult.

So cursola has a anability that, basically, if you know your opponents, if Youre Pounteng tax into it and knockout your Cysala and then you flip heads, you get to knock out their pokmon. Sothis is very reminiscent of the Gengar from Storm Front. I always get stormfronted secretwonders mixed up stormfront and that you know that's just a cool, asthat's just chool thing that comes back. You know, that's something they I likewhen Pokemon reuses. These ideas makes it a little bit different. So Kursulais a stage one as opposed to the old Gangar, which was a stage to, and sogetting it into play is going to be much easier, it's kind of likewhimsicot. In a way, I suppose the dragopuls is more like Wimscott, butjust has that added dimension right where, if they flip heads- or you knowyour Pona Fli whatever the flip is. If the flip goes, your way, you're in a good spot and so cursulavery cool card, I'm going to be excited to see how people run that, because itcould be its own deck, it could be kind of a you know: Mor peco, switching deckinto a Cursola that sounds kind of fun. If your oponent doesn't have a way toget around the CURSOLA, they have to risk the flip that could be kind ofcool, a few different ways that you couldplay Cirsolan for that matter. Dragopulte as well hasa little bit better attack. I feel like then Cursa well, I know in Cislo, butobviously at the expense of being a stage to, and additionally the effectof the flip is not as immediate. It has the same ability as Wimsicot, and thatis not you know it's not it's not ideal right. I guess I guess the idealability would be like your opponent attacks and you and Ocxyou out, and then you win the game. I guess that's the ideal ability, but but with dragonpult, going off on atangent there with Drago pult, it's just the same as the wome's got alittle bit better attack, though than the cursolag that I feel like they'vekind of paired with. I don't I don't know, pokamon likes to do this wherethey have built in. You know decks that they want you totry out these two just kind of jumped out to me as being ones that might gotogether in a deck who knows. Hatterine is a cool card with thatability that forces your opponent to Discard a card. So now all of a suddencontrol decks have hand. Control decks, have a way to discard down topotentially zero cards off of a five card hand right, so it would take asurge plus, a double Jessie and James plus a hatterene more likely morelikely. It's going to be just an easier way for a control style. Deck to you know, get from three cards to zero, because then you don't need the you don't need to surge. You can JustsinJames. Do the ability on the Hatterine- and you know, take your point of handdown this Yeare, I'm looking forward to seeing how hataren plays into the mix, maybe in expanded, we haven't really seen a good hand, control deck andexpanded for a while we've had control decks that play off the board. You knowyour opponent can't knock out your guy and you Max posion. It or you put up awall kind of more stall decks, but we haven't really seen a handcontrol deckand expanded for a little while. So maybe that comes back just a just acute little card there and then Phaelanx Falix, that is my deck dude, with the twinenergy being able to hit. I believe it's one, seventy with having a fullpailix set out, but then you have the v which reduces damage and you have theregular failings which attacks for a te twin energy. I am really lookingforward to playing this. It just feels like a big basic deck. It feels likewhen I first started playing there was...

...this deck called? Well, maybe not whenI first starte playing within the first five years on me playing there was thissteck called Quad Tarakian, and it feels a lot like that, where you'rejust kind of like all right, I got one dude he's just going to hit for like avery middle of the road amount of damage, but he's going to be able totank a few hits, and you know I'm going to have four of them. Am My deck inthis case we have eight right for that can attack and for that are for support, but it still feels like that kind of deck. Where you you, K, ow you're,going to play things like big charm, to give your guys more HP, you're going toplay the healing cards, you know you're going to play the denial cards andyou're just going to make this disruption healing. You know hope thatyou never get knocked out attacker and you know what there's a lot ofpokemon right now. That can do more Damnin to do enough damage to knock outthe failings, but you know it's going to be fun. Thereare certainly some decks out there that are going to struggle with the HP andwith the damage reduction. So faelixg is one that I'm looking forward totomorrow to testing and just being like a fun meam deck that I think I canthrow on the ladder and win a couple games. Pokemo breeders, speaking of Meme DeckBogomy Braiders, brings up cliable. So cliffable is where you evolve it andyou can remove one of your opponnents energies or make them pick it up backto hand. Can Somebody can somebody double check that one? Forme, I want to make sure that I'm saying the right thing, but it has somethingto do with when you evolve it. The energy comes back to the opponent'shand, and I just want to make sure that I am correct on that one. So ' Goinna go here and check out checkout cliff fable, but certainly there are a lot of these kind of nongxpokemon that a Ar Non v Pokemon. I should say they have kind ofinteresting tie: INS. Okay, I'm getting confirmation yeah back to the top ofthe deck yeah. I do see that so you know the non VI pokemon. Do they reallystand a chance? Probably not they might be. Okay, as this kind of disruption. We come back to things like Hatterene from earlier. They might stand betteras the disruption element to you know, standard decks, but cliffable always an option. Always anoption something to consider and I'm sure, with things like scopupnet andeven like an expanded. Potentially, this is a card that could seesignificant play. Speaking of expanded, I love Malamar inexpanded, Val Malamar vimax seems so good and expanded, and itmight just be me saying: okay, I've been craving. You know another gooddark deck that can utilize dark patch, very well, but the Malamar VMAX has theattack. Where let me get make sure I get the damage correct, because I knowwhat the attack does, but the damage is the most important thing. So theMalmarvimax has an attack that says: Does one hundred an eighty damage, anorrponent reveals their hand, choose one card that you find there d put iton the bottom of your ponent's, Dick, so another control aspect that is maybe a little bit stronger in some ways than some of theother control hand, control aspects that we've seen inexpanded in a in a while. So let meexplain: We've had things like Persian, which can for colorless energy. Look atyour opponents hand and discurd their hand down to four what if they onlyhave? Four cards in hand: Well, then, you don't get to mess with their handat all. With this with a vmax, you are gettingthe ability to put any one card that you find, so they could have a cardhand of four. They could have a hand of...

...twenty, they could have a hand of onewhich would be ideal, but you goeld to just take the best card in their hand, put it right back on the on the bottom of their deck, and hat can be verystrong. That can be very, very strong, I'm hoping that the expanded format canbreak that in some way. You know it does have kind of anawkward attack, Cost Dark, dark colorless, and it is a stage one. Sowhether or not this can actually be played is remaining to be seen, but ithas, you know, a halft three hundred and TNHP. The grass weakness is not sobad in the expanded format, and so this is one that I'm going to be playingtomorrow, hopefully in expanded. If I can muster up all the Malamars- and I thinkabout it tomorrow, because I think it's GOINGTO BE SuperSuper Fun, Draga Polt, we've already talked abouta little bit, and what can I say this is a deck that isperformed very well in Japan. I will be excited to see how the list we takefrom there can be adapted to our metagame and and maybe a more quote-unquote. American playstyle, whatever. That means, but it'll, be interestingto see how that kind of funnels into being. You know optimize how that list willkind of coalesse around itself and then Caparaja vmax could be a cool card in AP deck. Youknow a one of a two of you know one one line a two two line: Idon't know that it has the necessary attack power to be on its own.I don't know that it can be a deck on its own. There has been talk of aCaparaja deck with the Lucario Mel Metal, and that is a very interestingproposition. When you get up the Caparaja Vmax, it has just an absurdamount of HP, and so you can put a metal frying pan on it. You can, youknow, do all your healy things, obviously as soon as you get the GX attack off with a Lucario mal medalthat has even more tank ability. So that would be something to look out foryes, three hundred and let's see three hundred and forty hp on the Caparaja,so just an absurd amount of health on TA CAPARAGO EMAX. Look out for thatdeck to you know at least make some waves early in the format and we'll seeif it hasn't sticking power to ride it out. So those are the things that I'mlooking forward to for next format. We didn't really talk about Tox etricity. That much I know a lot of people have been hyping toxetricity, but for methat deck just doesn't seem like it has what it takes and that's fine. You know it's cool to have kind of your own petteck. I definitely recommend it right now to just find a deck that you wantto test the heck out of a couple four manths ago for me that pet deck wasarcanine. You know, and I called it Clifford the big red dog and I had ablast plan Clifford and I had a blast optimizing the list to be just perfect. You know I made some little Meta game adjustments and tried to make that deckas good as possible, that that would just be a big piece of advice that Iwould give to any. You know any player, really any player find a deck. That'sjust your deck that you can just call yours that has you know it's, maybe notthe best matchups, but you just find new things about it out through yourtesting andto your playing something that you have fun with and somethingthat you don't have the pressure to win every match, because you feel like. Oh,this needs to be. You know, Tiar one material dude, just it's your funding, try to find one of those in this forma. Speaking of this format, we have onemore reasonable tournament. Yo. I want a turtle. Thank you so much forthe raid welcome to the Stream. Speaking of this format. We have onemore tournament reasonably in this one, more majortournament in this format, and that is of course the second limitlessqualifier. Now there are approximately...

...ten dex that I want to highlight andtalk about as being potential plays for this tournament. I will be playing thisSaturday in the tournament and I'm hoping to do as well as I did last time,if not better, where I went ten and three on the first day of competition, making it to the second day where I didn't have quite as good of a recordbut still had a lot of fun and maybe just didn't have the breaks go my way.So I think this week the braks will go my way and you're going to see achampion here for tag team. So there are ten dexs that I want ahighlight, the first of which is ATP now ATP COMESINTWO forms but they're very different in their placstyle ATP normal. I say normal ATP traditional, you know with the basic energies or youknow. If you want to do a tag, coll engine, that's also good, but ATP, justatpization, you maybe have a cute attacker and like Chriogonal, you maybehave fione all that stuff or Rangor all that good stuff ATP. We all know it. Weall love it or we hate it. That's fine, but ATPS. It's known currently is the winner of the last LimilissTournament, the qualifier number one and arguably the best deck in theformat. Now, with the inclusion of energy switches, which I think a lot ofpeople have gone towards, ATP now has an almost I kdon't. It hasa very favorable mill stall matchup. I don't want to say it's a perfectmatchof. I don't want to say it's an auto in matchup, but with three energyswitch in your man. Car are in your ATP, it's hard to lose to a deck like MAGcargo mill, it's hard to lose to a deck like Sinchino and in a lot of cases youcan speed right on past any of the hand, control Dek things like Sinchino hand, pigioto control, those kinds of things, so ATP, absolutely hundred percent atop contender. I would expect that to be probably fifty percent of the fieldor more for this tournament, so if you're going to the the limit or ifyou're playing in the Lemilis Tournament, make sure that you have anATP counter or at least a game plan against ADP, especially an ATP that hasthree energy switch if you're playing a stalldeck make sure you know. Okay, these lists are going to be pack into three energy switch. How can I getaround that and I think your answer might be in the energy denial. I thinkwe're going to need to see a little bit more energy denial. Things likecrushing. Hammer are going to need to make their way back into the mill decks, because what really really really hurts mill is yes, the ultre creaion, that'spretty bad, but then, following that up with the ultimate ray on the ATP andgetting multiple attackers set up, that is just a killer, so you really can'thave you know both of those happen? In consecutive turns I find that that, forthe mill player is one of the worst things you know you lose those matches. You know at least eighty or ninety percent of the time if they can go ATPinto an Alt creation on back to back turns that's just not a good look foryou as a no player, so make sure that you have a counter to ATP best teck inthe format have an answer to it. Have a game plan against it. Just know whatyou're doing and if you decide to play ATP yourself have some kind of idea ofwhat you're going to do in the mirror. You Know Haw make sure that you knowexactly how to play the mirror when to go for the Gust, how to play around the Trino punishment. HOW TO NOT! You know, play the Danna when you don't need to you know things like this. You all knowhow to play mirrors. I hope so just you know be calm and play the best sick in the former. A challenger to the best deck in the format is, Iguess, the cousin of adpsation in ATP...

...spiritum. Now this cousin was recentlyborn recently made popular by Ross in his top four performance in the firstlimitless qualifier and it's a very fun deck, ATP Spirit, Tom, very, very cool, deck, very fun and has, I would say, a positive adpization matchup. Now themath just works out where, if they can get a big charm on their ATP, you asthe atpzation player, are never going to be able to one shot their ATP. Thatgives them enough time to altt DMIT, O alterd creation, following up withspear, tombs and all that good stuff and then they're trading. You knowthree prizes for two at the point that they're getting spear tunes up andattacking. If you never knock out their ATP, then it's just lights out, for yout at that's pretty much it so AP spirit, Tom, very, very strong deck. The weakness of ATP Spiritom is the mill matchup. So if so many peoplebring ATP spirits soon that you know it just dominates againstAdy pusation, then mill, you know, should rise to the top right, becausemill has, for my experience, a very good ATP, spiritum matchup with Anif. You Spirit to him. Your weakness is that you only attach one energy perturn. That's all you can do you don't play any metal saucers, you don't playany energy switches. You don't play anything spooky like that to accelerate that energy, so you're alittle bit more susceptible to things like crushing hammer to things like team, yell grunts and if you're tryingto go for the altered creation strategy, which you should do against mill. Ifyou're trying to go for that strategy, then you can get locked out of the gamebecause you just never get enough energy to put onto your ADP. All that said still a very solid deck.I am still considering it for this upcoming tournament and you know it's not out of therunning. It's not on the running for me for the Limilis qualifyer number two. Ithink it's very fun. I think there are some cool things that you can do with Pspiritum. For instance, you can just go ham with spear Tume and just let it goright. You can just like say: okay, I'm abandoning ATP and just play it as likea one prize. Dick with four spear Toim and just saying, Hey, I'm going to letspirit to and do all the heavy lifting in a lot of cases that can get youthere right. If you're thinking about something like playing against, youknow, firebox, let's say they start a gx Po tag, team Gx spokem on and youknock it out over the course of two turns with your spear tune and then youknock out. You know a Geraci and then you gussed up with your last spirit,Shom, you gussed up a Dedena and knock that out. Well, there you go that's sixprizes. You've only used three Pokemon, it's not the optimal route right.Obviously you want to go all to creation into the SPIRI Tume, but it isa rout that you can take and one that works quite frankly. The third deck that kind of rounds outto me this, this pyramid of Tier One decks of the best dex in the format, isall the mill and control deck so MAG. For the case of this discussion,MAG cargo mill and Stancino mill just being that mill standard Mildeck, Ithink, is probably that third best deck in the format- and we already justtalked about ATP spiritum having a bad matchup against mill. I would stand bythat just again, you're not able to get the older creation off and it can bejust really awkward in those opening turns not saying it's unwittable. It'snot an auto win match of it's just a not a favorable match up. However, themilldecks struggle against multienergy switch ADP, and that is the killer. Ithink there will be a ton of atpsation with energy switch, and so I think millis on the downturn. Someone will probably do welth it. Infact that guarantee someone will go. Aout thet, someone will probably top awith me. Of course it is a just...

...inherently good deck. I think it doesget countered by the ATPSATION and that's why I'm personally not choosing it. I don'tthink it has what it takes to I'm trying to think of, like I was tryingall day to think of stall or mill counters that they could put in for theatpsation matchup. The thing that I just keep coming back to is the moreenergy disruption so more crushing Hammer, but that's on a flip. You knowmore yellow grunt, but that's not you know exactly the most exciting or sexysupporter in those opening turns mill. Have it on your radar, but I wouldn'tconsider it as big of a threat. As we saw last week, there are six other decks that I wantto talk about here and I'll list them all in in order that I'll talk about them stall hand control. So this could besomething like Sencino Hand, control Pigioto. In its you know, old form orcurrent form. If you prefer it that way, bless saphalon baby, bull, Seplon, firebox, Malimarm, Youtube, Granbull and Pekaron so stall hand. Control is Pigioto, it is since Shino based, butthe idea there is that you get your opponent down to you know they have oneto two prizes left to take, and then you hit him with the reset stam yea hithim with the articuno. You Hid Hem with the Mars or in some cases double Marsor in some cases Mars, plus Jessie and James. Whatever. That combination is toget their hand down to zero, and then you can troll their top deck withchipchip. This is a deck that I've been seeing on the ladder a little bit moreand it's seen an uptick. I think we've also said, because maybe mill is on thedownturn that stall hand control is on the upturnbecause there is that elementof being able to win any match. Despite you know, your opponent like having energy switches right, if youcan just remove all their energy from their active ATP and leave them stucktop tecking into exactly what you want them to top Thak into that can be a reallytough position to be in same thing, goes, for you know againsta firedeck right if you're going to remove all their energy and they don'thave a pivot thatit's going to be really hard for them to win the game sohand. Control is something that has been discussed and I've seen it playedon the ladder and I'm a little bit afraid about. I was thinking aboutplaying it, but I think there is a few counters to the handcontrol listthat I've seen ATPDU. I keep coming back to ATP. Idon't know that it's a perfect matchup for you as a stall player, because the the energy switches make it so thatthe turn won altered creation is almost impossible to overcome you're going tobe on the backfoot from turn. One on that wasn't always the case in fourmatspast Pigioto. Had you know two three four turns plenty of time. Plenty oftime to get their stuff together, you know overthe course of a few turns whil ATP was slowly nanually setting up or whateverdeck they were playing against. They had a couple of turns, you know, and ifwasn't Typ, they were only taking one prize at a time, not the case, not thecase turn one alter creations are so common, so prevalent, or even you know, even turned to whatever it is. The altercations are so prevalent and socommon that hand control really struggles. They can take two fourprizes just like that turn three and you're, basically out of the game. Atthat point, the soft counter to hand control thesoft counter...

...is the Arangru, the Aranger. So arangaroo is a way that you can get out of that, lock that they have on you with the with the Chipshi isax right, so they'regoing to control your topic. If you have a rangro down, you get to see anextra card so that one extra car can make all the difference. It can be thatMarni that you need. It can be that Professor Sicmore, that you need itcould be that last energy that you need whatever it is, that last card can be a huge difference,so Aran Gre, I mean, if you're at all, worried about your hand, controlmatchup. I don't know that you should be because I think it's third heavycounter it's just time. I don't think there's enough time. Even I was playing this on the ladderyou know the last couple of days. It was a. It was a Senchino Hand, control deck, and I wasgoing very, very fast, not really thinking about like what I needed to do,instead more going for what I could do and what I thought was right, so notmaybe not making a optimal plays, and I was still like finishing games. Thirty five. Forty minutes in people are really good at those kindsof decks and that's not to say that they can't do well. I'm just saying youmust know exactly what you're doing you must play fast. You must play swiftly. You must play with with great confidence if you decided chose somekind of hand, control variance, bless ephelon. I think this deck is out.I am ruling this deck a dead deck for the next limitless tournament and I'lltell you why it doesn't regularly beat things withMarni, and that was always its big problem. It has a solid matchup againstATP, but I can't even give it like a positive rating and I can't even giveit an even rating. I would say it's like fift fifty at best, and you knowit could go down to like Fort Sixty or forty five. Fifty five, I mean you knowyou can get into all the minor percentages there but bless cethelon. The issue that I have is that Marni at the right time can just absolutelyobliterate the deck. You would think that against an ATP style, deck, okay,I'm going to get the Blaseflon and I'm going to get the beast. SBRINGER andI'me GON TA KNOC OT THEIR ATP on turn. To truth, be told something in there isgoing to falter for you, you're not going to get the welder you're notgoing to get the sixt energy you're not going to get the you know, even thebles ephlon out. Sometimes it's hard to find the basic pokemon in that deck. There's just a lot of moving pieces that that need to happen in order for you towin the game, and sometimes you know you prize the B Springer you drawinto a blasepalon and six fireenergy is your opening turn. I mean that kind of stuff happens with thatdeck, and it really turns me off to the list. Now there's a lot of great thingsabout that deck. I think it can do well, but it's just not a deck that I love andWest kind of saw it in the last limitless tournament. Where didn'treally perform that. Well, to be honest, I didn't really perform to anyone'sexpectations. FIREBOX DECKTA got top eights by MrKuger K case wizzle. Congratulations on that firebox top eights killing it over there firebocks anotherrun hot run, COL deck. I would never tell somebody not to play it, but I'veplayed my fair share of firebox in this format and the last format, and it'sone of those things you draw welder you're, a happy boy. You don't drawwelder you're in a pit of doom and gloom, so firebox go ahead. Dude goahead, play it. If you, if you like it, it'sjust something: that's not ATP that can be DP. I think that's the appeal for a lot of players, and so you knowwhat it has decent matchip ig tans against the rest of the format. You canbring things up with nine tails. You have a potential one shot attacker inthe...

...in the charzard, in the Hetran and inthe MIMICU. If you decide to play a baby bull cefhalon in that list, thatcould also be kind of cool as wealth, so keep a lookout for firebox wouldnever tell somebody not to play that deck. I just don't think it's the deck for me Maliarmi to now. This is a fan. Favoreverybody loves the MALAMARDECKS. We haven't really seen any Malamar withGEUROTINA. Just the straight Guiritina Malamar spell tag stuff, which is fine.I mean, I think, there's you know it struggles a lot with mill, andespecially if Liseplon is on the downturn. That was like your one, autowin matchup and you don't have. That put you know potentially anymore. Ican't you know Pretacke the exact future what people are going to play, but all that to say Meli Mar me to I don't like it. I don't like it. Youguys might like it. That's great. I played one two three. I played three Malim Armouto in the last limitless tournament withmy ATP Zation and I beat all three of them for one and for two two of them got off theturn. One laudios GX, clear vision me on that first turn andI still beat them so like. I don't know what to think. I knew that that matchupwas like pretty close. You know. Maybe I hit the right side of Ariance andmaybe you're having this different testing results and this testing resultis you know it's three games, so it's not it's not a ton, but just the stuffthat I've seen on the ladder and playing that you know with thatinteractions like they play a lot of tag teams. The ATPSATION can knock outtag teams, clear vision, almost doesn't matter in a lot of cases, so I don'tlove it. I don't love that matchup in particular, and if we think that a lot of people are going to play adpsation, then Iwould stay away from Malamarmusu. Just doesn't have that that matchup that I would like to seefrom against the best deck in the format. There is an argument, though, that you couldplay the ultimate Mutu. I've talked about this on the podcast a coupleweeks ago in preparation for the first lietless Qualifyer, fine deck. I thinkit'll provide you. You know average to above average results. I don't knowthat ultimate Mutu is a deck that will ever win the tournament. I think, astoo many flaws, it relies too much on energy attachments itrelies too much onjust you know me to being an attacker and all the things that come with, thatyou know mimqu being the both MEMAC cus, I guess in a sense being big countersto MOU to, and so there's just a lot of little things that that can go wrongwith the deck like that, but Malim Arme to don't play it. Iwould suggest ultimate Musu the Henry Brand Mu to if you decide to play me tolist second te last DEC that I want to touchon. Granbull people have been hyping it a little bit because it had a prettygood. You know, running day to I mean seven, an no and day to is nothing to scoff at and so, and so you know I like it, I like it,it's a cool deck. It's a fun. Deck has a very good ATP matchup, and so, ifyou're worried about ATP running into to many eghty piece play the granbull. That thing is Super Fun Right, it' Super Fun. It's super good! It can struggle with things. You knowjust itself it can struggle with just not being able to one shot thingsmissing key pieces getting marnied at the wrong time. Things like that, butoverall I like granble, I like gramble seems like it's poised well to dopretty well in this Meta game and the...

...last deck is Peka Pica Pikeram don'tplay, it would not suggest. I think we had one person get top thirty two withPekram, I'm going to go back and check my numbers here, but it let's see there was a peekroundplayer at twenty five yeah. Wouldn't I recommend it. I don't think a lot ofpeople played Pikram, but I just don't see it having very good from again myexperience playing the deck doesn't have that good of atps Atian matchup and certainlydoesn't have that good of a stallhmill matchup. So I don't love it. I in love it not not my favorite deckout there and I would not recommend people to play it. I could give I could give yeah. I could give fiverecommendations off the list of ten. If you're, like hey JW, I want to playthis stick. Should I play this? Stick ATP, yes, home run ATP Spiritun, yes, Homerun, Sincino, HMACARGO MILL! You know what,if you have the text for it, if you have a little bit extra energy denialsure go for it if you're comfortable with it go for it. firebox sure byallmeans. If you are in love of firebox play it granble. You know what play itthat dexs fine, very good, ATP matchup, not a ton else going for it. I think itmight even struggle with something like ATP Spiri Tum if they can get just likeif they can throw a bunch of Spiritom Vatue, but even then it's maybe not sobad. So those are the five decks of the ten that we talked about. That I wouldrecommend we have some questions in the chat here. What about Ultramalli? I don't think so. Aaas well as runningrecommending Malamarmitu, it's fine! I just don't think it beatsATP and atps going to be the biggest thing. So I'm worried, you know I'd, beworried about playing Nalamar Muto into a field of ATP, just because atps ofbest second format wouldn't be surprised to see it. Take up fortyfifty percent of the field and just running against Sant Gauntlet. Theclear vision doesn't even help you in the Malam army to matchup. Now it doesdefinitely help you in the Guiuritina Malley matchup. But you know what I'mnot a fan. I haven't been a fan. Even you know, Marny plus disrupting theirhand, not that great. You can definitely win the matchup. It's justnot an auto an by any means, and so I would stay away from it. The gauntletjust seems too harsh for it. Guardion, Aha athat could be not a deckthat I'm considering Winsakadcx, always kind of a fun thingthat would seem like a deck. That is a lot of feaster famaned right, youropponent, flips the right number of heads or tals or whatever it is to getthrough your ability or if anyone plays a single copy of like the power plant, then Yoryour Dayis, just over you know it seems like a deck that you'll have average results with. You might peek it. I don't know if we're saying that the next tournamentis still going to be twenty rounds, and then you might Pek at I'd, say thirteenfourteen is probably the best you could do and then the worst you Coul do withMal winsicon is probably around six to eight wins. You know it justfeels like that very middle of the road deck where you're not going to winevery single game you play, but you're going to win enough of them to likepatch yourself on the back and say hey, I had a lot of fun. I did pretty well. So thank you guys for joying me tonightthat is going to be the podcast.
